申請資格
要符合PGWP的申請資格,您必須滿足以下所有條件:

全日制學生身份:在每個學期都保持全日制學生身份,除了最後一個學期可以是兼讀制,或因獲批的休學而非全日制。

特殊情況
在以下特殊情況下,您可能仍有資格申請PGWP:

加速課程:如果您在比正常課程時間更短的時間內完成學業,您可能有資格獲得與課程原定時長相同的PGWP。

遠程學習:如果您在2020年3月至2022年8月31日期間因COVID-19而在加拿大境外進行遠程學習,這段時間的學習可能計入PGWP的申請資格。
不符合資格的情況
如果您符合以下任何一項,則無法申請PGWP:

之前已獲得PGWP:如果您之前已經獲得過PGWP,則無法再次申請。

語言課程或興趣課程:如果您完成的課程是英語或法語作為第二語言的課程,或是一般興趣或自我提升課程,則不符合申請資格。

獲得全球事務加拿大(GAC)資助:如果您接受GAC的資助或獎學金,且要求您畢業後返回原居國,則不符合申請資格。

遠程學習超過50%:如果您超過50%的課程是通過遠程學習完成的,則不符合申請資格。

非加拿大機構課程:如果您完成的是位於加拿大境內的非加拿大機構的課程,則不符合申請資格。
工作許可的有效期
PGWP的有效期取決於您的課程長度:
- 課程少於8個月:不符合申請PGWP的資格。
- 課程8個月至少於2年:PGWP的有效期可能與課程長度相同。
- 課程2年或以上:PGWP的有效期最長可達3年。
請注意,PGWP的有效期不會超過您的護照有效期。如果您的護照即將到期,建議在申請PGWP前先更新護照。

Work in Canada after you graduate
Who can apply
To be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP), you must meet alleligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements include
- general eligibility
- eligibility requirements based on study program
- graduates with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree from a university
- graduates of another university program
- graduates from a college program or other non-university program
- graduates from a flight school
- eligibility requirements based on physical location
- inside Canada graduates
- outside Canada graduates
- field of study requirements (if applicable)
General eligibility
You meet the general eligibility requirement to apply for a PGWP if
- you completed a study program at a designated learning institution
- you maintained full-time status as a student in Canada during each semester of your study program
- There are some exceptions to this requirement, including
- studying part-time during your final semester
- taking an approved leave from your studies
- having to stop studying or changing to part-time studies between March 2020 and the fall semester in 2020 for reasons related to COVID-19
- There are some exceptions to this requirement, including
- you apply for your PGWP within 180 days after you graduate
- your study permit was valid at some point during the 180 days after you graduated
- none of the exceptions to the PGWP eligibility requirements apply to you
You aren’t eligible for a PGWP if you
- already received a PGWP
- studied English or French as a second language
- took general interest or self-improvement courses
- received funding or a scholarship from GAC that requires you to return to your home country after graduation
- completed over 50% of your study program through distance learning (online courses, e-learning or correspondence)
- Note: You may still be eligible for a PGWP if you could only study online from outside Canada because of COVID-19.
- completed a study program at a non-Canadian institution located in Canada
- completed a course or program of study at a DLI that is not PGWP-eligible
- This includes programs delivered on behalf of a PGWP-eligible DLIthrough a curriculum licensing agreement (also known as public-private partnerships, or P3s). Check the exceptions below.
Eligibility Requirements Based on Study Program
If You Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Doctoral Degree from a University
- Language Requirement:
- You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of:
- Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 7 in English, or
- Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 7 in French
- This applies to all 4 language areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- Find out what your language level is based on your language test results.
- You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of:
- Program Length Requirement:
- If attending a DLI in Quebec, your program must be 900 hours or longer.
- If attending a DLI in Canada (outside Quebec), your program must be 8 months or longer.
- Field of Study Requirement:
- No field of study requirements for university graduates with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctoral degree.
If You Graduated from Any Other University Program
- Language Requirement:
- You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of:
- Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 7 in English, or
- Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 7 in French
- This applies to all 4 language areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

- You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of:
- Program Length Requirement:
- If attending a DLI in Quebec, your program must be 900 hours or longer.
- If attending a DLI in Canada (outside Quebec), your program must be 8 months or longer.

- If you submitted your study permit application before November 1, 2024, there are no field of study requirements.
- If you submitted your study permit application on or after November 1, 2024, you must have graduated in an eligible field of study.
If You Graduated from a College Program or Other Non-University Program
- Language Requirement:
- You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of:
- Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 5 in English, or
- Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 5 in French
- This applies to all 4 language areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

- You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of:
- Program Length Requirement:
- If attending a DLI in Quebec, your program must be 900 hours or longer.
- If attending a DLI in Canada (outside Quebec), your program must be 8 months or longer.
- Field of Study Requirement:
- If you submitted your study permit application before November 1, 2024, there are no field of study requirements.
- If you submitted your study permit application on or after November 1, 2024, you must have graduated in an eligible field of study.
If You Graduated from a Flight School
- Additional Requirements:
- You must meet one of the following:
- Completed a flight training course at a DLI training centre and now hold a Canadian commercial pilot’s license, or
- Hold (or are in the process of obtaining) an instructor’s rating and have a job offer as a flight instructor from a DLI flight training centre.
- You must meet one of the following:
- Language Requirement:
- No language requirements for graduates from a PGWP-eligible flight school.
- Program Length Requirement:
- Your program must be either:
- 8 months or longer, or
- 900 hours or longer.
- Your program must be either:
- Field of Study Requirement:
- No field of study requirements for flight school graduates.
Field of study requirements
If your study program has a field of study requirement, you must graduate from a program linked to certain occupations in long-term shortage. The fields of study are divided into 5 broad categories:
- agriculture and agri-food
- health care
- science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
- trade
- transport
